The US military command that scans, North America’s skies for enemy missiles and aircraft plans to move its communications gear to a Cold War-eramountain bunker, officers said. The shift to the Cheyenne Mountain base in Colorado is designed to safeguard the command’s sensitive sensors and servers from a potential electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack, military officers said. The Pentagon recently announced a $700 million contract with Raytheon Corporation to oversee the work for North American Aerospace Command (NORAD) and US Northern Command.


Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that the United States had created the “myth” of nuclear weapons to portray Iran as a threat, hardening his rhetoric before nuclear negotiations resume this week. Khamenei has supported the talks but has continued to express deep mistrust of the United States. As the highest authority in Iran, the withdrawal of his support could cause the negotiations to collapse.


GLOBAL NETWORK (Keep Space For Peace) is supporting a petition against the USA’s supplying of weapons to the Ukraine. The petition says that this is a dangerous policy when “a nuclear war is looming”.
