Tue 3 Mar: Webinar – why we must unite against the far right

CND is proud to supporting the ‘Together Alliance’ national demonstration against the rise of the far right which takes place on Saturday 28 March.

This webinar will look at the links between nuclear weapons, war and racism and why we must unite against the far right.  The development, use and maintenance of nuclear weapons exposes the horrific legacy of racism and colonialism that continues to this day.

Here in Britain, Keir Starmer’s government is prioritising huge increases in military spending instead of tackling social deprivation and rebuilding our crumbling public services. This is fueling the far right. They are exploiting the devasting impact of this decision, whipping up racism and scapegoating Muslims, refugees and migrants.

The far right are now targeting peace campaigners opposing Israel’s genocide of Palestinians. Their violence and hatred threaten us all.

We have all seen how the whipping up of racism and hatred has been used to dehumanise whole populations and create ‘enemies’ to justify wars, like the devastating illegal war and occupation of Iraq.

This is why it is critical that we unite together to stop the far right.

With guest speakers including Bell Ribeiro-Addy MP; Roger McKenzie, CND Vice-President; Junko Ozawa, member of TUC Black Activists’ Network and Royal College of Nurses; Sabby Dhalu, co-convenor of Stand Up to Racism and interim officer of Together Alliance.
