Sat 25 Apr: ‘Hands off Iran’ – demonstration at Fairford base
Join CND and Fairford Action for a demonstration against the use of UK bases in Trump’s disastrous war on Iran.
Despite the (already fragile) ceasefire, CND remains highly concerned about Britain’s role in the US and Israel’s attacks on Iran and the wider Middle East. The spotlight is certainly on Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s decision to allow the US to use British bases, including Fairford, to launch attacks.
The base is central to the US illegal war. These US bombers have been dropping huge, 2,000lb bombs. Despite government statements, it can give no guarantee where the planes are deployed, and therefore cannot rule out war crimes are being committed from this base.
Given the fragility of this ceasefire, we must assemble at Fairford to send a strong message that Britain must not be complicit in any breaches of it. That means getting these US bombers sent back to the states now.
Assemble 12 noon at Fairford. More details, including transport options, to be announced shortly.
