Mon 20 Jul: Webinar – Justice for nuclear test veterans: stop the nuclear arms race
Join CND for an exclusive interview with Alan Owen, son of a nuclear test veteran and founder of Labrats, the campaign that has been fighting tirelessly for justice and to raise awareness about the global impact of nuclear testing.
We’ll be talking to Alan about the shocking news that the Ministry of Defence has either lost or can’t find the medical records of veterans who took part in Britain’s nuclear testing programme.
In the decades since these tests, these veterans have experienced a much higher level of cancers, blood disorders, and other medical conditions than the rest of the population. Yet the government refuse to admit their exposure to nuclear explosions have caused these illnesses. Their horrendous experiences graphically show that nuclear weapons do not ‘protect’ us. Instead they leave a devastating toxic legacy.
Join CND for this webinar to discuss how can we get justice for the nuclear test veterans, why we need to halt the British government’s expansion and upgrade of its nuclear weapons and why we need to build a global movement to end the deadly nuclear threat for good.
