Readings of poetry and prose, with songs from the Clarion Singers, reflecting on the bombing of Hiroshima and other conflicts. We will light a candle in remembrance and rededicate ourselves to working for a more peaceful nuclear free world.
On 6 August 1945 a US nuclear bomb destroyed the city of Hiroshima in Japan. Three days later a second US bomb destroyed the city of Nagasaki. Never before or since has a nuclear bomb been used in war.
Join members of the West Midlands Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament to commemorate the 140,000 people who died in those attacks, and the millions who have died in war since 1945.
