Nuclear Disarmament, Not Nuclear Hypocrisy

Join CND’s online side event to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference at the United Nations.

As nuclear-armed states pour trillions into modernising their arsenals, the gap between their disarmament obligations and their actions has never been wider.

At this critical moment — with nuclear weapons states modernising and expanding their arsenals whilst global arms control is collapsing – a coordinated global movement for nuclear disarmament has never been more urgent. This side event brings together leading voices from parliament, civil society, and science to expose the contradictions at the heart of the system and to demand a way forward.

It is a call to name the hypocrisy, face the science and build the movement to end it. We hope you will join us. This event takes place 5pm UK time, 12 noon New York time.

With guest speakers including Melissa Parke, Executive Director; Zia Mian, Co-director Program on Science and Global Security, Princeton University and co-chair of the UN Scientific Advisory Group; and Bell Ribeiro Addy MP,  Vice-Chair of Parliamentary CND. Chaired by Sophie Bolt, CND General Secretary.
